Northwest Michigan Works! and Manistee Early Childhood Center have launched the region’s first U.S. Department of Labor Registered Early Childhood Educator Youth Apprenticeship, the Manistee News Advocate reported.
The new program is designed to give youth apprentices a full year of structured, hands-on learning with experienced mentors in an early education setting. Participants will also complete 155 hours of coursework through educational partners, building both practical classroom experience and technical knowledge needed for early childhood education work.
