USCIS Confirms New H-1B Registration Rules for FY 2027

, , , , 0

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services says a new final rule is now in effect for the FY 2027 H-1B cap registration season, updating how employers and prospective petitioners participate in the process.

The agency states that the rule took effect on February 27, 2026, and that the registration period opened on March 4, 2026. USCIS also says it planned to send selection notifications by March 31, 2026.

For Turkish professionals hoping to build a career in the United States, the change is important because H-1B is one of the most common routes for specialty occupation workers. Employers, attorneys, and applicants will need to pay close attention to the filing steps and deadlines.

Anyone preparing for the next cap season should review the updated USCIS guidance early, confirm eligibility, and coordinate closely with a sponsoring employer before the filing window closes.

U.S. Work-Based Immigrant Visas Remain a Key Option for Skilled Turkish Professionals

For Turkish professionals considering the United States, USAGov’s immigrant work visa guide is a useful starting point. It explains that people with the right education or skills may qualify for a permanent worker visa and, in some cases, bring their families with them.

The guide highlights five categories of employment-based immigrant visas, including EB-2 and EB-3. It also notes that some cases require a job offer and an employer sponsor before the visa process can move forward. That makes early planning important for both workers and employers.

In many cases, the employer must also work through labor certification with the Department of Labor. So this is not just an application form; it is a coordinated process with multiple agencies and deadlines.

For readers comparing temporary and permanent options, this page is helpful because it separates the two paths and points to official resources for fees, forms, and interview preparation. For skilled Turkish applicants, that can make the difference between a vague idea and a workable plan.
