DHS Keeps Turkey on the List of Countries Eligible for H-2A and H-2B Work Visas

, , , 0

Turkey remains on the list of countries eligible for the H-2A and H-2B visa programs, according to USCIS. That matters for Turkish readers who are exploring temporary work options in the United States through employer-sponsored seasonal jobs.

The H-2A program is used for temporary agricultural work, while H-2B is used for certain nonagricultural seasonal jobs. For workers and employers, country eligibility is a key first step because it affects whether recruitment and visa processing can move forward under these programs.

For people in Türkiye considering a short-term path to the U.S., this update is a practical reminder to look closely at employer requirements, timing, and official filing rules. A country’s eligibility does not guarantee a job or visa, but it does mean the pathway remains open.

Applicants should rely on official USCIS and State Department guidance when reviewing H-2A or H-2B opportunities, especially if they are comparing different legal routes to the United States.

USCIS Confirms New H-1B Registration Rules for FY 2027

, , , , 0

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services says a new final rule is now in effect for the FY 2027 H-1B cap registration season, updating how employers and prospective petitioners participate in the process.

The agency states that the rule took effect on February 27, 2026, and that the registration period opened on March 4, 2026. USCIS also says it planned to send selection notifications by March 31, 2026.

For Turkish professionals hoping to build a career in the United States, the change is important because H-1B is one of the most common routes for specialty occupation workers. Employers, attorneys, and applicants will need to pay close attention to the filing steps and deadlines.

Anyone preparing for the next cap season should review the updated USCIS guidance early, confirm eligibility, and coordinate closely with a sponsoring employer before the filing window closes.

U.S. State Department Explains New Visa Fee Levels for Students, Visitors, and Workers

, , , , , , 0

The U.S. State Department’s visa-fee page lists current application fees for many common U.S. visa types, including visitor, student, and exchange categories.

For Turkish readers planning a trip, study program, or temporary work assignment in the United States, this information is practical and easy to overlook. Visa fees are often only one part of the total cost, but they can affect the timing and budget for an application.

The page also notes that many immigration-related forms are filed with USCIS rather than the State Department. That makes it easier for applicants to understand which office handles which part of the process.

Anyone preparing to apply should review the fee chart before scheduling appointments or gathering documents. A clear budget now can prevent delays later.

U.S. Expands Online Guidance for Green Cards, Work Visas, and Naturalization

, , , , 0

USA.gov has updated its public guidance on naturalization, offering a clearer starting point for people who want to become U.S. citizens. The page explains the basic path and helps users find the right government resources for each stage.

For Turkish readers thinking about a future in the United States, this kind of guidance can be useful well before a citizenship application is possible. It helps connect the dots between temporary visas, permanent residence, and the final step of naturalization.

Related federal pages also direct applicants to green card and work-visa information, which makes the overall immigration picture easier to understand. That matters for families comparing options and trying to figure out which process fits their situation.

The main benefit is clarity. Instead of relying on social media or secondhand advice, applicants can begin with official U.S. government explanations and then build from there.

U.S. Work-Based Immigrant Visas Remain a Key Option for Skilled Turkish Professionals

, , , , , 0

For Turkish professionals considering the United States, USAGov’s immigrant work visa guide is a useful starting point. It explains that people with the right education or skills may qualify for a permanent worker visa and, in some cases, bring their families with them.

The guide highlights five categories of employment-based immigrant visas, including EB-2 and EB-3. It also notes that some cases require a job offer and an employer sponsor before the visa process can move forward. That makes early planning important for both workers and employers.

In many cases, the employer must also work through labor certification with the Department of Labor. So this is not just an application form; it is a coordinated process with multiple agencies and deadlines.

For readers comparing temporary and permanent options, this page is helpful because it separates the two paths and points to official resources for fees, forms, and interview preparation. For skilled Turkish applicants, that can make the difference between a vague idea and a workable plan.
